Soldiers from 23 nations have gathered in Nepal to train for peacekeeping missions in areas hit by conflicts.
The
two-week exercise organized by Nepal and the United States is being
used to promote regional security and enhance the peacekeeping
capabilities of the countries.
Altogether, 871 soldiers are
participating, from such countries as Australia, Canada, Japan, Jordan,
the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Britain.
They will train in skills used for peacekeeping operations, such as patrolling, checkpoint operations and convoy operations.
