Obama Strategy Syria Overcome Conflict

A day after U.S. President Barack Obama tries to push Israel back to the negotiating table with the Palestinians peace, on Friday (22/03/2013), the eyes of the world was drawn to Obama during a visit to Jordan.

Obama will hold talks and a private dinner with King Abdullah II. Many people waiting for what the strategy will be brought Obama to solve a number of problems in the Middle East, especially Syria issue.

Moreover, Jordan is one of the countries affected by civil war in the neighboring country. Currently, Jordan, Syria holds at least 436,000 refugees. The number of refugees is estimated to increase to 700,000 people if the conflict continues until the end of this year.

Obama has refused to disburse aid of weapons or ammunition into a conflict that has killed 70,000 people expected it. However, Obama offered logistical support for the opposition and millions of dollars in humanitarian aid.

In addition, Obama also will support Jordan's political reform that can be said in the most calm that swept the reform movement known as the "Arab Spring" was.

A senior U.S. official said the Obama administration wants to work with King Abdullah II of security issues and related challenges will help Jordan solve the refugee problem.

"We provide assistance to support Jordan and international organizations to help refugees in Jordan, Syria," the official said.

"We are also working with the government of Jordan as part of a coalition of countries that support the Syrian opposition to pressure the regime, the opposition to build, and try to create a new Syria," he added.

In this way, Obama warned that Washington is investigating the possible use of chemical weapons in the conflict Syria.

Obama also reminded that the condition is likely to be a factor that "changed the game" that could trigger international intervention if Bashal al-Assad's regime actually used chemical weapons to fight the rebels.
