Austria - A school for the study of Ancient Roman gladiators found in Carnuntum, Austria. Archaeologists have examined the Carnuntum region which lies close to the Danube River for more than a century.

As reported by Fox News, Saturday (03/01/2014) at the school there is a block of cells, arena training, and bathing complex. The building is buried for centuries in Carnuntum.

The researchers conducted a remote sensing technique to find this school. This gladiator school named Ludus which covers 30 138 square meters.

"The most notable feature on the school yard is the presence of a circular structure with a diameter of 19 meters, which can be interpreted as a training arena for the gladiators," wrote Wolfgang Neubauer of the University of Vienna in the journal Antiquity.

According Neubeuer the circular building surrounded by bleachers made ​​of wood. In the south wing of the building complex, the researchers detected a block of cells, each of which covers only 32-75 square meters.

This ancient building also contains a proof of residence of the owner or lanista school. There is also a bath complex where the gladiators could recover from their hard training.
