Obama Set Emergency Status for Texas, after a Fertilizer Plant Explosion

Washington - President of the United States (U.S.), Barack Obama declared a state of emergency for the state of Texas, after the explosion that killed 12 people. Obama insists that he does not forget his people in Texas, although the government is currently focusing on Boston bomb blast case.

"I want them to know that they are not forgotten," said President Obama in the White House briefing room when they want to discuss the arrest of perpetrators of bomb blasts Boston, as reported by Reuters on Saturday (04/20/2013).

"Our thoughts, our prayers, along with those in the West, Texas, where so many people lost their lives, some people lost their homes, many people were injured, and many are still missing. Overall, this week is the week severe, "he added.

With the establishment of the state of emergency, then it implies that Obama ordered the Federal Disaster Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to disburse aid to the healing process in the West, Texas, after the explosion occurred.

The blast, which occurred on Wednesday (17/4) nights at a fertilizer factory in the West, Texas, killing 12 people and injuring about 200 people. While 60 others were reported still missing to this day. A total of 50 homes were destroyed in the blast, which according to eyewitnesses, this feels like a nuclear bomb.

Not known for sure the cause of this explosion. But the provisional estimates, the explosion was triggered by a fire in one of the factory buildings.
