60 Victim Injury Collision commuting New York Still Treated at Hospital

New York - Victims injured by the collision of two commuter trains in New York City, United States (U.S.), increases. Until now, there have been 60 injuries, in which 5 of them seriously injured, were rushed to the hospital.

"Sixty people were taken to hospital. There are 5 people are in critical condition, one of them in very critical condition," said the Governor of Connecticut, Dan Malloy via his Twitter account, as reported by AFP on Saturday (05/18/2013 ).

The collision occurred on Friday (05/17) night local time, or just as the rush hour home office. Train speeding from the opposite direction collide head to head in the near Bridgeport, Connecticut. One of the passengers in the train that drove into New York, tells the horrific incident that happened. By Alex Cohen, the train suddenly stopped and the passengers bounced toward the front.

"There's smoke in the carriage. People were screaming, they were very anxious. We were really shocked. They even had to break the window to get out," said Cohen told local media, NBC Connecticut.

This incident impact on commuter services on the eastern coast of the United States, ranging from New York to Boston, Massachusetts. Metro North, which is known as one of the commuter line busiest in the United States, serving approximately 280 thousand passengers per day.
