F-15 United States, Falling in Japan

Tokyo, - A U.S. fighter jet crashed into the sea in the territorial waters of Okinawa prefecture, Japan. No casualties in the incident. Pilot F-15 fighter jets that managed to jump safely.

"We send planes and patrol boats to the location after we received a call for help from Kadena Air Base," said an official with Japan's coast guard told AFP on Tuesday (2013/05/28).

Kadena is a United States Air Force base as well as the center of American air power in the Pacific.

"We heard the pilot, the only person on the plane, jump jump and survive, hold on to something in the ocean," he added.

Unknown causes of the fall of the fighter jet. Local authorities have not provided further details.

Okinawa hosts more than 47 thousand U.S. military personnel stationed in Japan. Crimes, including the rape of the U.S. military personnel often occur and cause public outrage Japan.
